Nasdaq is looking for a Global Head of Accounting Operations based in Vilnius, Lithuania.

This role continues to execute the established strategy for the shared services department, including leading and managing Nasdaq’s financial shared services function, and overseeing the operation of the current shared services footprint, which is comprised of procurement operations and travel and expense management; accounts payable and settlement; accounts receivables and collections; and fixed assets.

He/she will partner with senior financial management to expand shared services capabilities, centralize services and evaluate delivery models. This role is also responsible for elevating the shared services function, developing, building and driving the future-state shared services model.

This role will lead through influence and collaborate with partners across the Company to deliver a best-in-class customer experience in an efficient, cost-effective manner and to strategize for the future. Ensure teams are measured and held accountable to key performance metrics. Leverage dashboards, improve reporting and processes, and benchmark shared service departments to continue to evolve the department. Comply with local legal requirements by understanding existing and new legislations, enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions. Ensure effective communication between HR, Operations, Finance, and other departments regarding any change and impact to associates or the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership and direction through team members.
  • Oversees the performance and results of diverse teams, disciplines, or departments.
  • Executes the organizational strategy set by top management, clarifying expectations for team members.
  • Develops and oversees the execution of functional/departmental strategy to achieve key business/organizational objectives.
  • Oversees and at times manages the development and execution of functional projects.
  • Serves as the primary contact for leadership, internally and externally and leads the vendor selection process for business unit and/or organizational initiatives.
  • Interacts regularly with top management to communicate status and provide reports on the performance of the business unit/function.
  • Drives cost-savings and risk mitigation strategies and reviews business unit or function’s performance data (financial, sales, activity reports, etc. to monitor and measure productivity, goal progress and activity levels).
  • Assists in growing the organization globally through awareness and application of global trends and markets in one’s business unit.
  • Coaches and inspires lower level managers to achieve better performance.
  • Motivates, develops, recruits and retains employees while rewarding and cultivating a culture of high performing teams.
  • Executes with business unit controllers, as well as Treasury and Tax departments in resolution of worldwide treasury and tax issues.
  • Facilitates and oversees quarterly reviews and year-end audits performed by internal external auditors.
  • Oversees the production of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, providing expertise as needed.
  • Ensures financial reporting requirements are followed and implemented.
  • Ensures compliance with the local financial authority’s accounting regulations and guidelines.
  • Ensures all intercompany transactions are properly accounted for, including payment of invoices.
  • Manages special projects.

Requirements:

  • Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline
  • Experience Required:  At least 15 years
  • Special Qualifications: Proficient expertise in the use of financial systems and Microsoft Excel
