The Head of Nasdaq Clearing Vilnius Branch (maternity cover) is responsible for a team of approx 20-25 employees. The unit has the overall responsibility of clearing of equity, fixed income and commodity derivatives and collateral management at Nasdaq Clearing, which is a part of the NASDAQ – a leading provider of trading and clearing services, exchange technology, information and public company services across six continents.

Nasdaq Clearing operates central counterparty clearing for derivative instruments and offers clearing of equity and index derivatives on Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish and Danish instruments; fixed income derivatives on Swedish, Norwegian and Danish underlying; commodity derivatives on Nordic power, emission rights, gas, German and Dutch power, iron ore, fuel oil, electricity certificates and salmon derivatives and derivative contracts on the British electricity market. Nasdaq Clearing clears exchange transactions as well as OTC trades done outside the regulated markets and reported to the clearing house for clearing.

As managing director of the branch, the person is responsible for development and management of employees as well as operational deliverables, risk control and business continuity planning for team and the person will also contribute to the wider site office leadership activities.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Providing leadership and direction through team members and team leaders
  • Overseeing the performance and results of the team, supporting multiple business units
  • Contribute in the creation and execution of Global Market Operations goals and cascading them to the team members
  • Developing and overseeing the execution of own team strategy to achieve key business and Global Market Operations objectives
  • Overseeing and at times managing the development and execution of different type of functional projects
  • Serving as the primary contact for leadership, internally and externally
  • Interacting regularly with top management to communicate status and provide reports on the performance of the business unit/function
  • Interacting regularly with external stakeholders and business partners
  • Driving cost-savings and risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Assisting in growing the organization globally through awareness and application of global trends
  • Motivating, developing, recruiting and retaining employees while rewarding and cultivating a culture of employee engagement and high performing teams

Requirements: ​

  • Education Required: Degree in finance or business administration. MBA diploma is meriting.
  • Experience Required: At least 5-10 years of managerial experience. Preferred experience from managing a Markets Operations unit in a financial institution.
  • Fluent English language skills ​
  • Great communicational skills, experience in leading middle size teams
  • Experience in proactive talent development for team leader level
