The role

We are expanding our Software Development team in Vilnius, Lithuania and are now looking for a talented and motivated JavaScript Developer to join us as soon as possible. The role will be part of a small, specialist team, reporting to the Lead developer/architect to prepare and improve Suppliers API usage, to control quality of other integration teams (by defining processes, providing samples, consulting and reviewing delivery) and to develop separate integrations.

  1. Working with other Developers on the AWS platform to ensure the development of high quality continuous build automation and deployment input to class-leading application platform solutions
  2. Assist in ensuring that application platforms and data solutions can be deployed and operated in a highly repeatable, secure and predictable manner

Railsbank is growing very rapidly, but remains a small company in which staff are required to contribute to many aspects of their departments’ roles in the wider business. The rate of change is very fast, and the role may also require work being undertaken, sometimes at short notice.

What we look for in your professional skills

You’re likely to be educated to degree level or equivalent, with excellent communication skills (across all media) and possess the ability to ‘get things done’ in a flexible dynamic organisation without having to rely on line-authority over other team members.

Your experience:

  1. 3+ years’ experience developing rich, large-scale applications
  2. JavaScript experience using modern tools and practices
  3. Strong Node.js experience
  4. Working knowledge of AWS
  5. A doer – always ready to roll up your sleeves and go the extra mile
  6. Experience working in a start-up environment highly advantageous
  7. Experience working in a TDD Agile Environment

You are a team-oriented person with excellent written and verbal communication skills and are able to talk easily to people at all levels.

You have good organisational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast moving, dynamic environment that is fun, but serious as well (we are responsible for other people’s money and we take this and our regulatory responsibilities very seriously).

Role location and hours

Unless agreed otherwise the role will be a full time role and you will be based in our Vilnius offices.
