Job Description

The primary role of the Marketing & Business Development Manager is to prospect for new agents by networking, cold calling, advertising or other means of generating interest from potential agents. They must then plan persuasive approaches and pitches that will convince potential agents to tie-up with SHIFT. They must develop a relationship with new agents, creation of new corridors, Implementation of an effective action plan, and set targets for sales revenue and provide support that will continually improve this target. They are also required to grow and retain existing accounts by presenting new solutions and services to agents. Marketing & Business Development Managers work with mid and senior level management, marketing, and technical staff. He/she may manage the activities of others responsible for developing business for the company. Strategic planning is a key part of this job description, since it is the business manager’s responsibility to develop the pipeline of new business coming in to the company. This requires a thorough knowledge of the market, the services the company can provide, and of the company’s competitors.

Job Requirements

The position of Marketing & Business Development Manager requires at least a bachelor’s degree in business, finance or a related field, with 3-5 years previous experience in financial markets and electronic money institutions. Excellent command, highly proficient in spoken and written English, other languages is a plus. Networking, Persuasion, Prospecting, Public Speaking, Research, Writing, Closing Skills, Motivation for Sales, Prospecting Skills, Sales Planning, Identification of Customer Needs and Challenges, Territory Management, Market Knowledge, Meeting Sales Goals, Professionalism, CRM, and Microsoft Office. 

Duties and Responsibilities of Marketing & BD Manager

  • Prospect for potential new agents and turn this into increased business.
  • Cold call with SHiFT’s current agents.
  • Set meetings between agent’s decision makers and company’s practice leaders/Principals.
  • Work with team to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.
  • Set the pricing for each corridor.
  • Present new services and enhance existing relationships.
  • Be the main connection between SHIFT departments
  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
  • Present to and consult with senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, and distribution channels.
  • Identify regional marketing campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales revenue. 
  • Submit requested reports within the specified duration
  • Ensure that data is accurately entered within the company’s departments.
  • Forecast the transaction volume and ensure the team, other departments and management meets them.
  • Work with marketing staff to ensure that prerequisites are fulfilled within a timely manner and achieve the marketing campaigns.
  • Ensure all team members represent the company in the best possible way.
  • Suggest new service or plans that will enhance the business performance.
