Our Monitoring SRE team ensures that our internal customers have the monitoring capabilities they need to ensure platform stability, and to provide high quality monitoring services as part our managed services offerings to customers. We develop a mix of extensions for commercial and open source products, as well as development of new products and custom solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze current operations and document operational improvement opportunities in the backlog
  • Work with subject matter experts to gather and document detailed requirements for monitoring capabilities additions/changes
  • Develop and deploy high quality solutions that meet or exceed customer requirements
  • Write automated unit and functional test cases for all stories
  • Participate in Agile development process such as sprint planning, retrospective, and sprint demo meetings

 

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years software development experience using Agile methodology
  • Minimum 5 years development experience with Python or Ruby
  • 2 – 3 years experience developing in a large or complex environment
  • A willingness and ability to dig in and learn unfamiliar technologies quickly

Desirable Requirements

  • Operational support experience in one or more of the following areas, Storage, Virtualized Compute, Physical Compute, Networking
  • Experience managing or developing for Zabbix or CA Unified Infrastructure Manager (UIM, formerly Nimsoft) monitoring systems
  • Knowledge of configuration management products such as Salt Stack, Ansible, or Puppet
  • Experience with any of SonarQube, TeamCity, Jenkins, Artifactory, Black Duck
  • Past setup of up a CI/CD pipeline using the above products
