A Segment Purchaser is taking responsibility for product specific purchased parts within the area of Investment and Consumeables. The Segment Purchaser is responsible for the execution initiation of Purchasing during the project phase and of supplier and material related tasks during the series production. A high focus will be on Investment purchases for Production equipment.


  • Ensuring that the Program Purchasing Targets in the dimensions of “Cost”, “Time” and “Quality” are being achieved or overachieved during series production phase. Working together as a team with the Mechanical Engineering of a certain Product Center, in order to achieve those targets.
  • Knowing the Hella-values, standards, processes, methods and tools in the field of Program Purchasing and being able to apply them within pre-series and series.
  • Preparation and lead for Sourcing decisions in international teams with focus on cost, time and quality achievement.
  • Supporting to minimize the total costs (Total Cost of Ownership) during project and series phase.
  • Maintaining and negotiation of project specific follow-up supplier agreements, including Nomination Letters, capacity agreements and tool contracts.
  • Executing series purchasing processes for product center specific material, which contains material cost planning, supplier assessment, change of supplier bank account data, maintenance tool database, supplier capacity monitoring, engineering change management, support for critical parts management, series material ordering outside ERP-runs and transfer responsibility during product relocations.
  • Implementation of purchasing and material group strategies.
  • Acting as first contact window for suppliers within series production and for product center overarching issues. Providing relevant information to material group management in order to derive appropriate actions.
  • Escalation to material group management and local management according to valid.


  • Field of education in electronics, mechanical engineering or other related field is desired;
  • Job related experience of 2-3 years;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English;
  • Distinct communication skills, as well as experience in international cooperation characterized by open socialization with other cultures;
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office;
  • SAP or other ERP system know-how is an advantage.
  • Experience in investment purchase is an advantage.
  • Experience in automotive industry is an advantage.
